In the revised book, spoken language is used alongside general language, and the emphasis has been shifted to the natural use of language in everyday situations. It includes the Read! section, familiar from the later volumes in the series, which introduces students to written language text types, and the Let's Talk! section, which provides practice in spoken language communication situations. Another new feature is the mini-language section at the end of the book. In addition, the illustrations and most of the exercises in the book have been revised throughout.
